From One Website to Amazon, Flipkart, and a Dollar Store Order: Kule Kule's Nomination Pitch

A bag and woollens brand from Gurgaon spent May proving it could sell direct to consumers. By the end of June, it was proving something harder: that retailers and marketplaces would carry it too.

The Nomination

Nishant Pande, founder of Kule Kule Dressing and Decor Pvt Ltd, has filed two rounds of material with Unhu's nominations process this year, in May and again in June. The brand makes handmade cotton jacquard travel bags and pure wool products from rabbit, merino, and yak fibre, built, Nishant Ji writes, around an objective to ensure people experience something pure at the right justified price.

The Numbers

In the May submission, it is reported that Kule Kule had just launched its website and picked up a foothold at the Unhu Startup Emporium, with close to 50 orders online and revenue of lakhs . "Together we are more," he writes, describing the approach behind that early traction.

By the June submission, the picture had moved past the website. Nishant Ji reports delivering an order to a dollar store account following a signed agreement, completing seller registration on both Amazon and Flipkart, with product photography and listing details still in progress, and reaching third position in what the form lists only as last week's performance, without naming the leaderboard. Nishant Ji also reports that Unhu recognized the brand's product quality, though the submission does not specify what form that recognition took.

The Community Side

Nishant Ji credits the community directly for the marketplace push:

"Unhu has given our brand a wonderful platform wherein we can showcase our products"

The submission also describes personally approaching Unhu's inner circle members about their procurement needs, and offering honest feedback to fellow founders.

What's Next

The stated target for the current quarter is specific even where the bigger numbers are not: at least 10 corporate orders, five additional distribution channels for bags.

Kule Kule's filings sit alongside more than 50 other Unhu nominations this cycle, several already mapped to categories from Healthcare to Fashion to Tech. A sustainable bag and wool brand with a one-month-old website is, on this evidence, not too small a story for that list. The next entry on it could be someone reading this.
