Most agencies scale by spending. Shalini Singh reports that ShaliniBizMentor scaled without spending at all.

The Delhi-based founder writes that her agency crossed ₹10 lakh in revenue in a single month during Q3 2026, purely through services, without running a single paid advertisement. Across the quarter she reports more than 20 percent revenue growth and 15 new clients, each of them arriving through referrals, existing relationships and brand authority rather than acquisition spend.

For a service business, that distinction carries weight. Paid acquisition buys volume, but it also puts a permanent floor under the cost of every new client. Growth that arrives through referral does the opposite. It compounds.

The quarter's second milestone was a new customised influencer marketing service for D2C brands, built around a gap Shalini writes she kept encountering. Brands were investing in influencer campaigns while selecting creators on follower count, popularity or simple availability, with no strategy underneath the spend.

Her team starts earlier than that. Before recommending any paid collaboration, they work through the brand's product, audience, positioning, campaign objective, creator fit, content angle and expected outcome, and only then build a plan specific to that brand. "Instead of simply connecting brands with influencers, we create a strategic influencer ecosystem designed around the brand's actual growth goals," she writes.

ShaliniBizMentor works only with D2C brands, positioning itself as an extended growth team rather than an external vendor. The scope covers social media marketing, brand positioning, content and creative strategy, influencer marketing, audience building and campaign execution. Shalini reports the agency has worked with more than 150 D2C brands to date.

Within the Unhu community, her contribution has taken the shape of direct teaching. She has run learning sessions with D2C founders, answered brand-specific questions live, and helped members identify gaps in positioning, social media, customer acquisition and growth systems. For several Unhu brands she has gone further and built customised growth plans matched to their stage, category and audience.

She writes that Unhu gave her access to more than 100 founders and that the Growth Circle sharpened how she reads a brand, pushing her away from generic marketing frameworks toward growth approaches built for the specific business in front of her.

What she describes as the harder discipline is not winning the work but owning it. Studying a brand deeply, building the right metrics, testing until something moves. She writes about late nights spent understanding a client's customers rather than closing a deliverable, and sets her larger goal as helping more than 100 brands reach measurable milestones.

Recognition, in her framing, should follow the value created for others rather than the value accumulated for oneself. The nomination puts that proposition to the community. ~Editor Shobhit Mehandiratta
